Kenai Peninsula, AK – Fatal Plane Crash near Tustumena Lake

Kenai Peninsula, AK (September 15, 2024) – Two men tragically died after their plane crashed near Tustumena Lake on Friday. Alaska State Troopers identified the victims as pilot Danny Presley, 70, from Happy Valley, and passenger Keith Presley, 58, from Ninilchik. The single-engine Champion 7GCBC crashed roughly 20 miles east of Ninilchik.

Authorities were alerted just before 11:30 a.m., and rescue teams were dispatched. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is investigating the cause of the crash. The victims’ bodies were recovered, and their families have been notified. The investigation remains ongoing.
