Marietta, GA (August 17, 2024) – Two Marietta Police Department officers and a 60-year-old man were injured in a crash on Friday night. The incident occurred at the Cobb Parkway North and Roswell St intersection around 10:15 p.m. A Ford Mustang, speeding southbound on Cobb Parkway, struck a nearly stopped patrol car. The force of the impact sent the Mustang spinning into a Toyota Prius.
The Mustang driver was ejected and both officers needed extraction from their vehicle. All three individuals were taken to Kennestone Hospital with serious injuries. The officers have been released, but the Mustang driver remains hospitalized in stable condition. The investigation is ongoing, and charges are anticipated.
