Union, CT – Serious Injuries in Route 197 Accident near Union-Woodstock Line

Union, CT (August 2, 2024) – A serious accident on Route 197 Thursday evening, August 1, resulted in a driver being airlifted to the hospital. The incident occurred near the Union-Woodstock line around 7:40 PM.

Connecticut State Police reported that the driver of a 2023 Audi RS3 lost control and crashed for unknown reasons. The driver, a 50-year-old man from Webster, MA, sustained serious injuries and was flown to Hartford Hospital by LifeStar helicopter. Debris from the crash also struck a 2008 Toyota Tacoma. The truck driver was unharmed.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the accident and are expected to provide updates as more information becomes available.
