Indianapolis, IN (September 6, 2024) – A fire at an apartment complex on the west side of Indianapolis injured four people, including two firefighters, on Thursday, September 5. The fire broke out around 5:35 p.m. at the 7800 block of Island Club Dr, near the Dandy Trl overpass.
One resident was hospitalized in serious condition, while another was treated at the scene. One firefighter was also taken to a hospital, while the other was treated on-site.
The fire engulfed the building’s third floor, prompting a boater to alert crews of a trapped resident. That resident was rescued and hospitalized.
Authorities are investigating the fire’s cause and will provide updates as more information becomes available.
