Meriden, CT – Fatal Motorcycle Accident on E Main St and Paddock Ave

Meriden, CT (August 1, 2024) – A motorcycle rider died following a collision with a pickup truck Wednesday night, July 31, at the intersection of E Main St and Paddock Ave.

Meriden police received multiple 911 calls about the crash at 3:38 p.m. Officers arrived to find the motorcyclist, Juan Cruz, 36, unresponsive on the roadway. Emergency responders transported Cruz to the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain, where he was pronounced dead.

Preliminary investigations revealed a black Toyota Tacoma was turning left onto Paddock Ave when it collided with Cruz’s high-speed orange Honda CBR600.

The Meriden Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit is leading the investigation. Authorities are urging witnesses or anyone with video footage to contact them. Further details will be provided as the inquiry into the incident progresses.
