Limestone Co., AL – Fatal Motorcycle Accident on US 72 near Elk River Park Rd

Limestone Co., AL (August 2, 2024) – A two-vehicle accident on Thursday, August 1, claimed one life and injured another. The incident occurred just before 6 p.m. on US 72 near Elk River Park Rd.

Authorities reported that a motorcycle collided with a Honda CR-V. The motorcyclist, Sidney T. Hamilton, 19, from Florence, was thrown from his bike and pronounced dead at the scene. The CR-V driver, Terry L. Albright, 63, from Nanty Glo, Pa., was injured and taken to Athens Limestone Hospital.

Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate the accident and expect to provide updates as more information becomes available.
