Fairview Township, PA – Severe Injuries in Bicycle Accident on W Lake Rd

Fairview Township, PA (August 2, 2024) – A bicyclist suffered serious injuries after being hit by an SUV on Wednesday, July 31, near the 8000 block of W Lake Rd. The accident occurred around 3:35 p.m. in the westbound lane.

A 47-year-old Lake City woman driving a Kia Sportage attempted to pass the bicyclist and hit him from behind. The 79-year-old Fairview man was thrown from his bicycle, sustaining severe injuries to his head, face, and body.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the crash and are expected to provide updates as more information becomes available.
