Fresno County, CA – Fatal Hit-and-Run on American Ave

Fresno County, CA (August 3, 2024) – Early Saturday morning, a bicyclist died in a hit-and-run on American Ave between Chestnut and Maple Aves. A truck, traveling east, struck the bicyclist on the southbound shoulder just before 6:00 a.m. The victim was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to their injuries.

A second bicyclist, on the northbound shoulder, witnessed the incident. The California Highway Patrol is actively seeking the truck driver responsible for the crash. Further details about the investigation will be released as they become available.
