Tuscaloosa County, AL – Man Killed in Crash at Alabama 216

Tuscaloosa County, AL (August 3, 2024) – Wayne A. Chastine, 57, died in a crash on Thursday, August 3. The crash occurred at 2:21 p.m. on Alabama 216, about five miles east of Brookwood. Chastine was driving a Toyota Corolla that left the road, hit a tree, and overturned. 

He was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene. Charles D. Woods, 64, of Tuscaloosa, the passenger, was injured and taken to DCH Regional Medical Center. 

The crash remains under investigation by troopers.
