Wichita, KS – Fatal Mobile Home Fire on S. Volutsia

Wichita, KS (August 7, 2024) – A mobile home fire on Tuesday morning, August 6, resulted in one fatality and two injuries. The blaze erupted around 7:30 a.m. in the 7100 block of S. Volutsia, between Haysville and Derby. Firefighters from Wichita, Sedgwick County, and Derby battled the significant fire.

Emergency responders attempted to revive a person found outside the mobile home, but they succumbed to their injuries. Two others were hospitalized, though their locations during the fire remain unclear.

Authorities are investigating the fire’s cause and origin. Further details will be shared as they become available.
