Sidney, NE – Two Motorcycle Collision Causes Death on U.S. Hwy 30

Sidney, NE (August 8, 2024) – A Kansas man died on Wednesday, August 7 in a collision involving two motorcycles east of Sidney. The incident occurred at 1:10 p.m. near mile marker 63 on U.S. Highway 30. Donald Sewell, 67, of Caney, Kan., was riding a 1995 FLHTC Electra eastbound and attempted a left turn at a historic marker. 

Bardin Kenneth Cade, 74, of Coffeyville, Kan., riding a 2013 FLHRC Road King, collided with Sewell’s motorcycle. Both riders were thrown from their bikes, and neither wore helmets. Sidney Volunteer Fire, Morrill County Ambulance Service, Cheyenne County Sheriff’s Office, Nebraska State Patrol, and Nebraska Department of Transportation responded.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the crash and are expected to provide updates as more information becomes available.
