Indianapolis, IN – Fatal Bicyclist Hit-and-Run on E Washington St

Indianapolis, IN (August 12, 2024) – Early Sunday morning, a fatal hit-and-run accident claimed the life of a male bicyclist on Indianapolis’s near east side. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department reported that the incident occurred around 2:45 a.m. along the 1300 block of East Washington Street.

Upon arrival, emergency responders found the victim deceased near his bicycle. According to witness accounts, the bicyclist was struck by a grey sedan, which subsequently fled the scene. Authorities are actively gathering additional information and reviewing surveillance footage from nearby businesses to identify the driver involved.
