Helena, AL – Motorcycle Collision on HWY 261 Results in Injuries

Helena, AL (August 12, 2024) – A motorcycle chase ended with a collision on HWY 261 near Chick-fil-A on Monday, August 12. Helena Police observed the motorcyclist driving recklessly on HWY 52 and initiated pursuit. The chase was terminated by police near South Shades Crest RD for safety reasons. The motorcyclist continued, ultimately crashing into a stationary car.

The motorcyclist was hospitalized in stable condition; no other injuries were reported. Following the incident, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency took over the investigation. Charges are pending against the motorcyclist. Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
