Elbow Lake, MN – Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Accident at Hwy 59 & 1st St

Elbow Lake, MN (August 14, 2024) – On Monday, August 12, a 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle and a 2003 Peterbilt lorry collided near Highway 59 and 1st St. Around 2:19 p.m., there was a crash. Jeffrey Robert Manthei, 64, was riding the southbound motorbike when it collided with the semi, which was being driven by Caleb John Hokanson, 40, who was heading north.

Manthei was sent to Elbow Lake Hospital after suffering potentially fatal injuries. Hokanson escaped injury. The event is being looked into by the Grant County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
