Shelby County, OH (August 16, 2024) – Jack Howbert, 31, of Chillicothe, was killed in a motorcycle crash on Friday, August 15. The accident occurred around 5:50 a.m. at State Route 66 and Ft Recovery Rd in Newport.
Deputies and medics responded to the scene after a pickup truck rear-ended Howbert’s motorcycle. The impact pushed the motorcycle into an SUV. Howbert was ejected from his bike and pronounced dead at the scene.
The drivers of the pickup truck and SUV received treatment at the scene and were released. Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the crash and are expected to provide updates as more information becomes available.
