Anderson County, TN – Two Dead, Multiple Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-75 S

Anderson County, TN (August 17, 2024) – A multi-vehicle crash on I-75 S resulted in two deaths and several injuries. The accident, which occurred around 1:50 a.m., involved a semi-truck, a Nissan Sentra, a Jeep Wrangler, and a Volvo. The semi-truck, driven by Dennis Jacobsen, 68, rear-ended the three other vehicles. The Sentra, carrying four people including minors, came to a stop off the road along with the semi-truck.

The Jeep Wrangler stopped in the center of the highway and the Volvo stopped off the road. Pedro Daniel Avina Sanchez, 35, and Jose Manuel Avina, 65, who were in the Jeep, were pronounced dead at the scene. Seven others, including minors, sustained injuries. Charges against Jacobsen and his passenger, Mary Ann Jacobsen, are pending. The investigation into the crash continues, with more details about the injured individuals to be released later.
