Phoenix, AZ – Teen Killed, Another Injured in High-Speed Crash at 59th Ave and Encanto Blvd

Phoenix, AZ (August 17, 2024) – A tragic crash early Saturday, August 17 morning resulted in the death of a teenager and injuries to another. The accident occurred around 4:15 a.m. near 59th Ave and Encanto Blvd.

Police arrived to find a 15-year-old girl, Anamarie Leach, and a teenage boy trapped in a vehicle that had overturned. Both teens were transported to a hospital by paramedics. Leach succumbed to her injuries, while the boy was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Preliminary reports indicate the car was speeding east on Encanto Blvd before veering off the road, crashing into a fence, and striking a tree. The investigation is ongoing, and more details will be provided as they become available.
