
Candia, NH (August 17, 2024) – On Saturday, August 17, at approximately 12:26 p.m., a serious motor vehicle accident occurred on Route 101 near the Depot Rd overpass and the Raymond town line. The Candia Fire Department, along with mutual aid units, responded to reports of a head-on collision involving multiple vehicles. Upon arrival, Lt. Jon Snow from Candia Fire reported that several vehicles were involved, including one that had gone off the road into a swamp.
The scene was chaotic, with two victims found entrapped in separate vehicles and several others critically injured. Additional resources, including ambulances and a medical helicopter, were requested. However, due to weather conditions, aerial support was unavailable. Firefighters worked diligently to extricate the victims and transport them to the hospital. Unfortunately, two victims were declared deceased at the scene, while others were transported to Elliot Hospital with varying degrees of injuries.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing, and authorities are working to determine the exact cause. Further information will be released as the situation develops.
