Jackson County, FL (August 19, 2024) – A 34-year-old man from Orange Park died in a motorcycle crash on Saturday, August 17. The accident occurred during a high-speed chase with a Florida Highway Patrol trooper on I-10.
The motorcyclist, who was fleeing eastbound between mile markers 102 and 104, lost control while exiting onto SR-71. Despite attempts at CPR by the trooper, the man succumbed to his injuries.
The motorcycle was found unregistered, uninsured, and without a license tag. Additionally, the rider had no driver’s license or motorcycle endorsement. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the crash and expect to provide further updates as more information becomes available.
