Sioux Falls, SD – Motorcyclist Severely Injured in Crash on Benson Rd and Northview Ave

Sioux Falls, SD (August 18, 2024) – A 34-year-old motorcyclist from Brandon sustained severe leg injuries in a crash on Sunday, August 18 at the intersection of Benson Road and Northview Avenue. The incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. when a 2005 Chrysler minivan, driven by a 42-year-old man, attempted an illegal left turn where only a right turn was permitted.

The minivan collided with the motorcycle, causing the rider to be hospitalized with severe injuries. The minivan driver received several citations, including careless driving and driving with a revoked license. 

The Sioux Falls Police Department is continuing to investigate the crash. Further updates on the motorcyclist’s condition are awaited.
