Whatcom County, WA – Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Hit-and-Run on Mt. Baker Hwy

Whatcom County, WA (August 20, 2024) – Troopers are investigating a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a motorcyclist over the weekend. The incident occurred on Saturday, August 17, at about 3:52 p.m. on Mt. Baker Hwy (SR-542) near Uphill Dr. at milepost 24. The Washington State Patrol (WSP) reports that a white Nissan Murano, believed to be from between 2015 and 2021, was traveling eastbound. The suspect vehicle crossed into the westbound lane and collided with an orange 2024 Harley Davidson motorcycle.

The motorcyclist was thrown onto the eastbound shoulder. The Nissan Murano fled the scene and may have damage to the passenger side near the front wheel and mirror.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the crash and are expected to provide updates as more information becomes available.
