New Bedford, MA – Motorcyclist Critically Injured in Rear-End Collision on Rte 18

New Bedford, MA (August 21, 2024) – On Tuesday night, a motorcyclist was critically injured in a crash on Rte 18. Police responded to the scene around 9 p.m. The collision involved a black BMW driven by 25-year-old Joseph Louis Jr. Leon, who was reportedly speeding and swerving before rear-ending the stopped motorcycle.

Leon had four passengers in his vehicle, including two minors aged 4 and 9. He faces multiple charges. The BMW suffered extensive front-end damage. The investigation into the crash continues.
