Blount County, AL – Woman Dies in Two-Car Crash on U.S. 31

Blount County, AL (August 23, 2024) – Janice M. Mehney, 67, of DeWitt, was killed in a car crash on Thursday, August 22. The accident occurred around 8 p.m. on U.S. 31 near Hayden, AL.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Mehney was driving when a vehicle driven by Lewis E. Soli II, 50, collided with her car. Mehney was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the crash. Further details will be provided as the inquiry progresses.
