
Palmetto, GA (August 25, 2024) – On Saturday, August 24, a fatal accident involving two vehicles occurred on Georgia 14 near Tommy Lee Cook Rd. At approximately 8:45 p.m., a white Ford F250 traveling south crossed the center line and collided head-on with a tan Chevrolet Malibu moving north. The crash caused significant damage to both vehicles.
The driver of the Chevrolet Malibu, identified as 64-year-old Robin Slaton, was pronounced dead at the scene. Emergency responders confirmed the tragic outcome shortly after arriving. The driver of the Ford F250, suspected of driving under the influence, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Grady Hospital for emergency treatment.
