San Diego, CA – Motorcyclist Killed, Passenger Critically Injured in Crash at Camino Del Rio N and Ward Rd

San Diego, CA (August 25, 2024) – A 59-year-old motorcyclist lost his life, and his 55-year-old passenger sustained critical injuries after a collision on Saturday, August 24. The crash occurred around 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Camino Del Rio North and Ward Road.

According to police, the motorcyclist was heading eastbound when a 60-year-old driver in a Subaru Outback attempted an illegal U-turn. The motorcycle collided with the car’s driver’s side, causing fatal injuries to the motorcyclist and severe injuries to the passenger.

The female passenger suffered a fractured pelvis, leg, and a collapsed lung. Authorities confirmed that alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

The investigation is ongoing, with officers expected to remain on the scene for several hours.
