
Prince George, VA (August 26, 2024) – Three people sustained serious injuries when their SUV overturned on Sunday morning, August 25, on Interstate 95 near the Carson exit. Among the injured was an infant who was ejected from the vehicle and required airlifting to a medical facility. The crash occurred around 9:15 a.m. on the southbound side of I-95 near Exit 37.
According to Virginia State Police Sgt. Jessica Shehan, none of the occupants, including the driver, a passenger, and the infant, were wearing seat belts or properly restrained. All three were transported to VCU Medical Center in Richmond for treatment of their serious, but not life-threatening, injuries. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, with authorities working to determine the cause of the SUV running off the road and overturning.
It remains unclear if the occupants were Virginia residents, and further details are expected as the inquiry progresses.
