Citrus County, FL – Two Dead in Motorcycle Accident on Dixieland St and US Hwy 19

Citrus County, FL (September 2, 2024) – A fatal motorcycle crash claimed the lives of two Brooksville residents on Saturday, August 31. The incident occurred around 1:12 p.m. at the intersection of Dixieland St and US Hwy 19. A 79-year-old man from Brooksville was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle with his 69-year-old passenger when he failed to yield at the intersection. The motorcycle entered the path of a Nissan Altima driven by a 51-year-old woman from Homosassa, leading to a collision.

Both individuals on the motorcycle were transported to the hospital, where they were later pronounced dead. Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the crash and are expected to provide updates as more information becomes available.
