Warren County, MS – Multi-Fatal Crash in Bus Overturn on I-20 West

Warren County, MS (September 2, 2024) – Seven people died and 30 were injured when a 2018 Volvo commercial bus overturned on Interstate 20 West near Bovina early Saturday, August 31. The bus, carrying 41 passengers and two drivers, was traveling from Atlanta to Dallas when the accident occurred just after 12:30 a.m.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol has identified the deceased as Miguel Arriaga, Victor A. Garcia, Moises A. Garcia, Kain Gutierrez, Perla Gutierrez, Elia Guzman, and Angelica Palomino. The victims included siblings from Guatemala.

Authorities continue to investigate the crash, which appears to have been caused by a tire failure.
