Lafayette, LA (September 2, 2024) – A motorcyclist died in a crash on Sunday, September 1, at the intersection of Surrey St and Twelfth St. Lafayette Police reported that the collision occurred around 10:15 a.m. when the motorcyclist, identified as 27-year-old Isreal Riggs of Lafayette, failed to stop at a red light.
Riggs, travelling northbound on Twelfth St, collided with another vehicle crossing Surrey St. The impact resulted in fatal injuries.
The investigation by the Lafayette Police Traffic Unit is ongoing as they continue to examine the crash details.
