Dorsey, IL – James Roberts Killed in Semi-Truck Crash at Rte 159 & Deer Park Dr

Dorsey, IL (September 5, 2024) – James Roberts, a 67-year-old from Alton, was killed Tuesday in a collision between his semitruck and a dump truck on Rte 159 near N Deer Park Dr. The crash occurred around 3:30 p.m. when the dump truck crossed the center line to avoid a fuel tanker stopped in the northbound lanes.

Roberts, driving southbound, died at the scene from blunt head, neck, and chest trauma. The dump truck driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The Illinois State Police continue to investigate the cause of the accident.
