Meriden, CT (September 9, 2024) – A fire broke out on Windsor Ave on Sunday, September 8, resulting in one person being hospitalized. Fire crews arrived around 4:15 p.m. after a report of a fire above a light fixture. The flames spread into the attic and behind the sheetrock walls.
Firefighters transported one individual to the hospital due to anxiety-related concerns. Sadly, a cat perished despite attempts by the fire crews to perform CPR.
The fire marshal’s office is investigating the cause of the fire. Further details will be provided as the inquiry progresses.
