New Castle, DE – Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Accident on Rte 1 N at Toll Plaza

New Castle, DE (September 11, 2024) – A 50-year-old motorcyclist sustained serious injuries in a crash on Route 1 Northbound at the toll plaza on Tuesday morning. Emergency crews arrived at the scene around 8:55 a.m. after the motorcycle was struck from behind by a sedan. The rider suffered extremity and potential internal injuries and was transported to Christiana Hospital in serious but stable condition.

New Castle County Paramedics, along with the Odessa and Delaware City Fire Companies, responded to provide medical care. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident and will release further details as the inquiry continues.
