Clay County, IA – Fatal Motorcycle Accident on 350th St Results in Death

Clay County, IA (September 12, 2024) – A 54-year-old man, Douglas. Wayne Nielsen, tragically died in a motorcycle accident on Wednesday morning. The incident occurred around 8:45 a.m. on the 1500 block of 350th St.

Nielsen, who was traveling eastbound, struck the rear of a car and was thrown from his motorcycle. After being ejected, he was hit by an oncoming car in the opposite lane. Emergency responders arrived, but Nielsen succumbed to his injuries. He was later transported to a nearby funeral home.

The Iowa State Patrol is investigating the circumstances of the crash, and more details will be provided as they become available.
