Mechanicsville, MD (September 16, 2024) – A Mechanicsville man lost his life after a motorcycle crash on Sunday morning along Rte 5. At approximately 2:41 a.m., Maryland State Police responded to the scene south of Old Leonardtown Rd.
Connor McCarthy, riding a 2008 Suzuki GSXR-750, was traveling at high speed when he failed to navigate a curve and hit a guardrail. Emergency services arrived and pronounced McCarthy dead at the scene.
Authorities believe speed, alcohol, and driver error contributed to the accident. A collision reconstruction specialist was called to investigate further.
