Bainbridge, GA – Pedestrian Killed in Collision with Sheriff’s Vehicle at Vada Rd & Ogerita St

Bainbridge, GA (September 16, 2024) – A Decatur County Sheriff’s vehicle fatally struck a pedestrian early Sunday morning. The accident happened at Vada Rd and Ogerita St at 3:55 a.m. The pedestrian, identified as 39-year-old Stanley Simmons, was hit by a 2019 Ford F-150 responding to a service call. Simmons sadly died from his injuries at the scene.

The Georgia State Patrol’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team is actively investigating the cause of the crash.
