Pike County, MS (September 20, 2024) – A tragic accident occurred on Thursday night, September 19 involving a bus that was transporting the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College’s “Band of Gold.” The incident took place on Highway 98, resulting in the loss of two lives.

According to the Mississippi Highway Control, the bus was en route to Summit, Mississippi, for a football game between Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and Southwest Mississippi Community College when the crash occurred.
