Macon, GA (September 23, 2024) – A man is currently in critical condition following a hit-and-run accident that occurred Saturday night in Macon. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies received a 911 call regarding the collision on the 3400 block of Mercer University Drive just after 11 p.m.

According to the sheriff’s office, a 28-year-old pedestrian was struck while attempting to cross the street. An unknown vehicle fled the scene immediately after the incident. Emergency responders transported the victim to Atrium Navicent Health for treatment. As of Monday, the condition of the victim remains unclear.
