Corrigan, TX – Motorcycle Wreck on State Highway 287

Corrigan, TX (September 24, 2024) – A tragic motorcycle accident occurred on State Highway 287, resulting in the death of a Corrigan man and injuries to a Livingston woman. The Corrigan Police Department reported that they were notified of the incident around 9:45 p.m. on September 23 and promptly arrived at the scene, accompanied by the Corrigan Volunteer Fire Department and Texas Department of Public Safety troopers.

Despite life-saving measures being attempted, the motorcycle driver, 20-year-old Dameon Maleek Love of Corrigan, was transported to CHI Memorial Hospital in Lufkin, where he was pronounced dead. The passenger on the motorcycle, 33-year-old Ashley Nicole Armstead of Livingston, was airlifted to a hospital in Houston for treatment. Fortunately, the driver of the SUV involved in the accident, 45-year-old Latisha Dianna Brown of Corrigan, was not injured.

The cause of the incident remains under investigation, and authorities are working to gather more information.
