Augusta, GA (September 27, 2024) – A tragic traffic accident occurred on Deans Bridge Road, resulting in the death of an 80-year-old woman identified as Dorothy Morrow from Augusta. According to Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen, she was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash at 6:42 p.m. on September 25.

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies responded to the 3400 block of Deans Bridge Road at approximately 5:45 p.m. regarding the accident. Upon arrival, they discovered that two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision. Unfortunately, one of the drivers was found deceased at the scene.

The coroner’s office confirmed that Dorothy Morrow was pronounced dead shortly after the accident. The second driver and any passengers involved were transported to a local hospital, where they were reported to be in critical condition.

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Division is currently investigating the incident. At this time, one northbound lane and one southbound lane of Deans Bridge Road remain shut down as authorities work at the scene. Drivers are advised to use alternate routes to avoid delays.
