El Dorado County, CA (October 10, 2024) – A serious motorcycle accident occurred on the evening of Monday October 7, resulting in life-threatening injuries to the rider, John Kelsey, 46, of El Dorado. The collision took place around 6:50 PM on Greenstone Road when Kelsey was involved in a crash with a Toyota Corolla.

According to officials from the California Highway Patrol (CHP), Kelsey sustained severe injuries, including significant damage to his pelvis, a compound fracture of his arm, and an arterial bleed. First responders from the El Dorado County Fire Protection District arrived at the scene shortly after the incident. Due to the critical nature of his injuries, a CHP helicopter, H-24, was dispatched to facilitate a medical evacuation.

The helicopter landed at Buckeye School, approximately eight minutes after the 911 call was made, allowing for a swift transfer of Kelsey to Sutter Roseville Medical Center. His current condition remains unknown.

Fortunately, the occupants of the Toyota Corolla did not report any injuries following the collision. The CHP is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash to determine the cause of the incident.
