Newton County, MO (October 12, 2024) – A multi-vehicle accident occurred on October 10, 2024, at approximately 2:37 PM on Coyote Drive, about one mile south of Joplin. The incident prompted a response from local authorities, including SGT K.R. Sanders.

According to the investigation, the crash involved three vehicles. A 1999 Dodge truck, driven by 59-year-old Angela K. Fox from Joplin, MO, was privately towed from the scene. A 2015 Kia Soul, driven by 44-year-old Timothy B. Collins from Carl Junction, MO, sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene. The third vehicle, a 1994 Chevrolet truck, was driven by 83-year-old Billie R. Greek from Oronogo, MO, who was also able to drive away after the accident.

The incident occurred when vehicles 2 and 3 were stopped in line of traffic. The driver of the Kia Soul failed to stop in time, pushing the Chevrolet truck into the Dodge truck. Billie Greek, the driver of the Chevrolet truck, sustained moderate injuries and was transported by Newton County Ambulance to Freeman West for medical evaluation.
