Clatsop County, OR (October 15, 2024) – A tragic accident occurred Sunday afternoon, October 13, on Oregon Highway 202, resulting in the death of a motorcyclist. According to police reports, the crash took place around 2 p.m. and involved three vehicles.

Authorities stated that Nathaniel Roger McCord, 68, of Scappoose, was riding an Indian Scout motorcycle westbound when he lost control while negotiating a turn. This loss of control caused him to lay down the motorcycle, leading to a collision with a westbound Chevy Colorado. The impact was severe, and McCord was pronounced dead at the scene.

In addition to McCord, the driver of a Harley Davidson motorcycle and a passenger sustained minor injuries in the incident. Emergency responders arrived promptly to assist those involved and manage the scene.

The accident caused significant disruptions on Highway 202 near milepost 15. The roadway was closed for approximately four hours while authorities investigated the circumstances surrounding the crash.
