Chicago, IL – Scooter Accident at 69th St and Stony Island Ave

Chicago, IL (October 17, 2024) – A serious accident occurred in the Grand Crossing neighborhood on Wednesday afternoon, resulting in two children being hospitalized. At approximately 3:40 p.m., a 7-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy were riding an electric scooter when they were struck by a white van at the intersection of 69th Street and Stony Island Avenue.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene and transported both children to Comer Children’s Hospital for medical treatment. The girl was reported to be in serious condition, while the boy was listed in fair condition.
