Columbus, OH – Bicyclist Struck by Pickup Truck at South High St and Fornof Rd

Columbus, OH (October 18, 2024) – A serious accident involving a bicyclist occurred early Friday morning in south Columbus, resulting in critical injuries to the cyclist. The incident took place just after 3 a.m. at the intersection of South High Street and Fornof Road.

According to police reports, an adult was riding a bicycle southbound on South High Street when a Toyota Tacoma, also traveling south, struck the rear of the bicycle. The force of the impact caused the bicyclist to be thrown to the ground, resulting in a head injury. Following the collision, the Tacoma fled the scene, leaving behind its left front bumper and passenger side mirror.

Emergency responders transported the injured bicyclist to Grant Medical Center, where they remain in critical condition.
