Woodbridge, VA (October 18, 2024) – A tragic pedestrian accident occurred early Thursday morning, October 17, in Prince William County, resulting in the death of a 57-year-old woman. At approximately 6:30 a.m., officers responded to the scene on Mapledale Drive near Miles Court following reports of a crash involving a pedestrian.

According to the Prince William County Police Department, the victim, identified as Maria Isabel Cardozo, was walking her dog in the neighborhood when a 30-year-old driver left the roadway and drove onto the sidewalk, striking her.
