Moniteau County, MO (October 19, 2024) – A serious motorcycle accident occurred on MO 87 at approximately 2:40 p.m. on Friday, resulting in significant injuries to a young rider. The incident took place about 600 feet north of Shalom Drive and involved a collision between a motorcycle and a car.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, 20-year-old Alexander Lusher from Eldon was riding a 2015 BMW S1000R motorcycle southbound on MO 87 when he crossed the centerline and collided with a 2018 Subaru Outback driven by 72-year-old Gloria Moody from California, Missouri. The impact caused Lusher to be thrown from his motorcycle, resulting in serious injuries. He was subsequently airlifted to University Hospital for medical treatment.

Fortunately, Moody was wearing her seatbelt and did not sustain any injuries in the crash. Lusher was reported to have been wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, which may have contributed to preventing even more severe injuries.
