Rochester, NY – Fatal Rollover Crash at Hudson Ave & Upper Falls Blvd

Rochester, NY (October 19, 2024) – A tragic rollover crash occurred on Friday night in Rochester’s Upper Falls neighborhood, resulting in the death of a 20-year-old woman and injuries to four others. Emergency responders were dispatched to the intersection of Hudson Avenue and Upper Falls Boulevard just before 9 PM following reports of the accident.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a two-vehicle collision, and a large crowd gathered at the scene. Investigators determined that the young woman from Gates was driving southbound on Hudson Avenue with two passengers when she allegedly ran a red light. Her vehicle was subsequently struck by another vehicle that had a green light and was making a turn from Hudson onto Upper Falls Boulevard.

The force of the collision caused the woman’s vehicle to spin out of control and roll over, ejecting all three occupants. The driver was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital, where she was tragically pronounced dead. Her two passengers sustained minor injuries and were also taken to Strong Memorial for treatment.

The driver and passenger of the other vehicle involved in the crash were taken to Rochester General Hospital, where they were treated for minor injuries. Fortunately, their injuries were not life-threatening.

Authorities have stated that there is no suspicion of alcohol or drugs being a factor in the crash, and the investigation is ongoing. Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact 911.
