Candler County, GA – Two Killed, One Injured in Head-On Collision on SR 46

Candler County, GA (September 12, 2024) – A fatal head-on collision on State Route 46 claimed the lives of two people Wednesday afternoon. The crash occurred around 4:20 p.m. when a Chevrolet Silverado, traveling west in the eastbound lane, collided with an eastbound Chevrolet Impala.

Both the driver and passenger of the Impala died at the scene, while the driver of the Silverado sustained serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital. Georgia State Patrol’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT) is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
