Cape Coral, FL – Man and Cat Die in Suspected Arson on SW 6th Ave

Cape Coral, FL (August 9, 2024) – A man and a cat tragically died in a house fire that authorities believe was deliberately set in southwest Cape Coral. Fire crews responded to the blaze at 912 SW 6th Ave just before 4:00 AM Thursday, August 8. It took firefighters 15 minutes to extinguish the flames.

The victim, a man aged between 60 and 70, was rescued from the home with severe burns. He was pronounced dead at Cape Coral Hospital. The Cape Coral Fire Department, Cape Coral Police Department, and the State Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating the incident as arson.
