Chandler, AZ – Fatal Injury After SUV Accident on I-10 at Milepost 166

Chandler, AZ (August 14, 2024) – A boy tragically died Tuesday morning, August 13, following an SUV accident on Interstate 10. The incident occurred around 6:27 a.m. when a blue Ford Explorer, traveling eastbound at milepost 166, experienced a tire failure.

The driver lost control, causing the SUV to enter the dirt median before reentering traffic and rolling over. A Ford pickup then struck the SUV. The boy, seated in the front, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the SUV sustained moderate injuries and was taken to the hospital. The four occupants of the pickup were unharmed. Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the accident and are expected to provide updates as more information becomes available.
